This blog helps me keep track of the research I’m conducting for my master thesis at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. I’m working on the relation between design and vernacular craft – how the practices can implicate each other in developing new products.
Through the blog I also share thoughts and information I find relevant about the topic.
Albio Nascimento, originally from Portugal, lives and works in Berlin and Faro. His training in product design in Lisbon and Milan led to his special interest in cultural research and vernacular design. Since 2006 he is curating DESIGNFORFUTURE, an annual exhibition on sustainable design. He also runs the-home-project * studio and continues to pursue his own design projects and research on traditional crafts.
